Technical Calf Nutrition & Business ManagerTechnical Calf Nutrition & Business Manager (Land O'Lakes & Purina brands)The successful candidate will provide leadership to support sales and marketing teams in Purina distribution channel by providing technical and market information. This position is considered the young animal field marketing expert. They will work with corporate marketing and Purina Area Sales Management to develop regional plans and programs.This is a remote position working with customers in the State of Wisconsin. Candidates will be expected to live in the area served.Specific responsibilities include:Defining product positioning and marketing strategies that increase sales in a specified territoryEducate the local sales team on how to differentiate our products from competitive productsAssisting with communication between the Purina dairy calf & heifer team, sales and marketing teamsAssisting with training of sales team and building the training material for product knowledge and animal management practicesSupporting customer activities at the Purina Animal Nutrition Center and at field events/meetings/conferences by participating and/or speaking at the eventsInfluencing marketing strategies and projects with the Area Sales Management and corporate marketingDevelop and execute annual territory projections and long range business plansRemaining current on dairy calf and heifer industry trends and knowledgeAssisting with attaining new business by providing technical expertise and knowledge during sales calls and visits with customersSupport the branded young animal program in the marketOther duties as assignedRequired Experience:Willingness to travel 70% of the timeBS in Animal Science or related field and/or Experience.Preferred Experience:10 years animal industry experience or BS/MS/Ph.D/DVM.Problem Solving Skills, Strong Communication Skills, Planning & Organizational SkillsTechnical skills and understanding of dairy calf nutrition and industry trends.Previous feed business experience in sales and marketing support.Demonstrated ability to develop and leverage collaborative relationships.Ability to effectively work as a part of a team and team building skills.Uncompromising integrity.ARPAS Certification (American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists)Compensation Range: $117,000 - $172,000 doeBonus Target: $40,000About Land O'Lakes, Inc.Join us and be part of a Fortune 250, farmer- and member-owned cooperative that is reimagining the business of food.
