Relman Colfax PLLC is a national civil rights law firm, with a litigation practice focused on combating discrimination and obtaining equity, including in the areas of housing, lending, employment, public accommodations, education, and police accountability. Our practice includes individual and class action lawsuits on behalf of plaintiffs who have experienced discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, national origin, color, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), disability, age, familial status, and source of income.

The firm also provides legal counsel to progressive financial institutions, Internet-based companies, housing providers, local governments, and nonprofits wishing to be industry leaders on civil rights compliance. We conduct internal investigations and provide counseling regarding consumer protection, privacy, lending, employment, whistleblower, and federal regulatory matters. The Role

Relman Colfax PLLC is accepting applications for a litigation attorney for its Washington, DC office.  

Responsibilities

The Firm seeks applicants who have 4 to 8 years of litigation experience. The attorney will litigate federal and state court cases, investigate potential cases, prepare complaints, draft briefs on dispositive motions and other motions, handle all discovery including taking and defending depositions, conduct oral argument, and conduct trials. The attorney will work in conjunction with the Firm’s lawyers. There is a 3-day per week in-office requirement for attorneys.

Experience and Qualifications

Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to civil rights enforcement; strong academic credentials; superior research, writing, and verbal skills; and the ability to carry a varied caseload.
