Department Overview

The Accounting Department produces monthly financial statements and variance analysis. Major activities include: maintaining financial statements with generally accepted accounting principles, monthly posting of operations performance, reconciling general ledger accounts, fixed asset reporting and capital spending tracking, managing the annual financial audit, completing external requests for information, and reporting structure and system maintenance.


Position Summary

The senior accountant is responsible for preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations; applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and procedures; preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements; monitoring compliance with regulatory organizations assisting in preparation of annual audit and tax filings; and reviewing associate accountant and accountant work to ensure accuracy and completeness.

License/Certification/Registration required? No

Education:
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Experience:
*5+ years experience with Accounting or Financial exposure.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Minimum:
*Audit experience
*Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills (to include pivot tables, dsums, vlookups, and macros)
*Advanced understanding of data mining and analysis
*Ability of create and maintain professional working relationships
*Ability to educate and ensure understanding of processes and/or concepts
*Self starter with ability to assess priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred:
*Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
*CPA License (Active or Inactive)
*Project Management experience

The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs.
