General Summary

Responsible to perform or assist in performing general repairs, and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.

It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 

Essential Tasks

 

Perform general repairs and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Inspect lighting and repair as necessary.

Maintain cleanliness of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Inspect and maintain water softening equipment.

Assist in the preparation of meeting rooms for presentations and seminars.

Perform work order requests as instructed.

Consistently operate all company vehicles in a safe manner and abide by all traffic laws. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

NonEssential Tasks

Assist with general housekeeping and grounds maintenance.

 

Education

Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.

 

Licenses and/or Certifications Texas Operators Driver’s License

 

Experience

No prior specific work experience required. Prefer building maintenance experience.

 

Knowledge

Must acquire a working knowledge of department procedures. Must have strong mechanical aptitude.

Must have a working knowledge of methods and equipment used in minor building maintenance and repairs.

 

Skills

Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.

Ability to use common hand tools and perform minor building maintenance tasks.

 

Abilities

Must be able to keep information confidential. Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.

Must be professional, detail oriented, self motivated, innovative, creative, assertive, organized, communicative, and have the ability to work independently.

Must maintain a good working rapport with coworkers.

 

Working Environment

Works in well lighted, airconditioned and heated vehicle or office environments, but may work in confined spaces and nonclimate controlled conditions. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment. Will also work in outdoor weather conditions (heat and cold). Will drive vehicles in all types of weather conditions. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens. May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend to include being oncall.

Occasional out of town and overnight stays required. Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required. Occupational Exposure Assignment Category II

Physical Requirements

Requires to work at heights from ladders, scaffolds and lifts. Requires to work in confined or tight spaces.

Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization. Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours. Requires to reach, lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Requires manual and finger dexterity and eyehand coordination.

 

Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range.
