TEMPORARY full-time farm work from 3/25/2024 until 10/26/24. 25 openings in Martinsburg, WV. Must be at least 18 due to hazardous working conditions. MUST HAVE minimum 3 months experience hand harvesting, sorting, and packing leafy greens. VERY PHYSICAL JOB: extensive bending, stooping, lifting (up to 30 lbs.), walking & repetitive movements. Overall duties include harvesting & packing watercress & arugula. Work outside & in packing house- fill tanks, load totes, possibly drive truck, stack boxes, move pallets, pack ice, operate stapler machine, clean work areas. Remove weeds, clean ditches, seed the field, assemble boxes. Outside work may require exposure to extreme temperatures. Must follow all supervisor instructions. 36 hrs/wk, Mon–Sat., weather permitting, work 6 days w/half hour lunch) Piece work pay rate; guaranteed $15.14/hour for Berkeley Co., WV. Work may also be in Maryland or Pennsylvania and may be paid piece rate with a guarantee of $16.55/hour while working in MD or PA. Must have appropriate documents to complete I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form for employer. Background ck & drug test will be done.
