Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to provide leadership, coordination, and final preparation of full estimates on large and complex advanced manufacturing projects related to semiconductors, batteries and solar modules. Excellent communication skills are necessary as you will be interacting with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality will be vital to your success.
The base compensation range for this role is $122,000 - $183,000. This range is adjusted for Denver, CO, and Tysons Corner, VA. This position is eligible for a potential annual bonus.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skill, and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Organization, flexibility, outstanding customer focus, and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to:
Leads teams of estimators on large projects
Facilitate meetings necessary for the completion of estimate, including kick-off, status updates, plan flips, final reviews, etc.
Assign work to ensure complete and reliable estimate incorporating all relevant information, including, but not limited to contract documents, communication with the design team and owner, tax laws, collective bargaining agreements, permits, and other regulatory requirements
Prepare trade partner strategy and prepare an invitation to bid / budget, working with the project team to guarantee complete pricing coverage
Obtain all relevant documents including BIM (Building Information Model) necessary to complete the quantity survey and to assist in the understanding of the project. Promote collaboration between all parties to ensure a complete understanding of scope that leads to comprehensive Scope and Budget Alignment
Work with the estimating team to ensure a complete Quantity Survey of materials/resources required to complete the project
Effectively works with estimating, project, and design teams to identify and mitigate risk to the project budget and margin
Work with the project team to determine site logistic and schedule requirements and prepare general requirements estimate
Prepares team and manages estimate presentation to design team and owner demonstrating complete command of scope and budget
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or similar or equivalent experience
LEED AP, DBIA professional, preferred
9 years of construction estimating experience
Experience developing cost estimates for large semiconductor/microelectronics fabrication facility projects ($200M+) utilizing Design-Build/EPC/CMAR project delivery method preferred
Organized and detailed with proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
Possess a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Applicable mathematical skills
Proficient with building/estimating techniques and software: ISqFt, Winest/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth
