Required Skills:
Transystems mechanics must possess the skills and experience to effectively maintain and repair heavy-duty, diesel equipment. Specific requirements include:

-Possess a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with proper endorsements

-Pass a DOT Physical

-Undergo a drug screening with negative results (company requirement)

-Have a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Records Review)

-Complete all DOT required driver qualification paperwork

-Be or be capable of being DOT inspector qualified

-Be or be capable of being DOT air brake qualified

-Have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable mechanic experience (Company Requirements)

-Must provide his/her own hand tools.

Note: Transystems requires mechanics to be DOT Driver qualified in order to road test and transport-repaired equipment. If an individual is unable to become DOT Driver qualified because of a disability or other extenuating circumstances, this requirement will be waived provided the mechanic does not drive company equipment on public highways.

The other DOT requirements such as air brake, inspector, etc. cannot be waived.

Job Description:
Transystems supports many different types of operations: road construction, aggregate stockpiles, open pit mining, short and long haul operations, specific hazardous materials hauls, along with seasonal projects such as our sugar beet operations. Therefore, all Transystems’ mechanics must be versatile in their mechanical skills and professional in their job performance. Mechanics employed by Transystems will be involved in:

1. The repair and maintenance of company equipment (both rolling and stationary) in a safe, timely, cost effective and practical manner.

2. The repair and maintenance of all types of semi, tractor/trailer combinations, COE and conventional tractors, trailers (including belly dumps, single, double, triple combinations, flatbeds, tankers, vans, hopper tank, bulk tank, and pneumatics).

3. Ensuring that all maintained equipment meets federal, state, and company standards.

4. Conducting equipment safety DOT inspections to:

a. Tractors

b. Trailers

c. Service Vehicles

d. Both revenue and non-revenue company equipment
