Position Summary
The Department of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP) is seeking one teaching faculty at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Full Professor (10 months) to help grow UB’s undergraduate statistics and graduate biostatistics programs housed within the department. This academic year position is New York State funded.

The successful candidates are expected to contribute to the teaching, scholarship, and service mission of the Department of Biostatistics and the School of Public Health and Health Professions. We are particularly looking for candidates who can operate effectively in a team environment and in a diverse community of students and faculty, as well as share our vision of fostering all students to reach their full potential. The expected teaching load is 7 courses per year (3-4 courses per semester), with summer appointment opportunities as needed. The successful candidate will have opportunities for advancing department initiatives across the university. While the primary focus is on teaching, successful candidates are encouraged to engage in research scholarship in their specialty area.

Department of Biostatistics

Minimum Qualifications
  • A doctorate degree in statistics or biostatistics
  • An established record of excellence in teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level
  • A record or potential for publication (in methodological or educational journals)
