Required Skills:
The Day Support Service Professional must possess active learning and listening skills. Understanding and actively listening to clients to effectively resolve issues and avoid unethical outcomes. The DSP must have the ability to critically think through issues and develop learning strategies to increase skill development. The DSP must monitor performances of self and clients and use statistics and empirical articles to develop a strategy to improve processes to increase self-awareness. The DSP should have the ability to read, write and understand college level English. The DSP must have the communication skills to convey issues to the client’s team without causing conflict. The DSP must have the ability to encourage clients to learn self-compassion and further develop their professional skills. The DSP should understand the reactions of others and clients and help the clients navigate. It is critical for the DSP to master complex problem-solving skills, technical skills, systems skills, resource management skills, job hazard, changes, pace and scheduling, role relationships, impact of decisions and conflict of interest.

Job Description:
The Day Services Support Professional will be responsible for supervising between 1 to 6 clients on Monday through Friday in person at the non-residential service site. The Day Service Support Professional will be managing client documentations and creating life-enriching lesson plans for the clients. The Day Services Support Professional will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring the clients with navigating and understanding of community resources.

Primary responsibilities of the Day Support Professional:
- Developing life enriching activities curriculum for the clients
- Developing a performance evaluation tool to help coach clients on life enriching activities.
- Mentoring and coaching clients life enriching skills
- Arrive to all on-site services on time
- Work directly with the clients
- Understand the learning aspect of each life enriching services and activities that are given to the clients
- Supervise the clients during the on-site services sessions
- Helping clients identifying and understanding the purpose of the services
- Effectively communicate with the clients and case managers
- Effectively communicate with the direct supervisors
- Day Service Support Professionals will meet with clients on-site 3 times a week
- Day Services Support Professionals will work on client curriculum 2 times a week to develop life enriching activities and client documentation.
- Understand 245D compliance and documentation procedures of tracking hours, location, and documentation goals.
- Evaluate the implementation of structured client-centered coaching
- Provide community resources to the clients
- Help clients with searching for volunteering opportunities
