Job Description

DESK ASSOCIATE, Division of Student Life (DSL)-Housing and Residential Services (HRS), to provide administrative and operational support for a graduate residence.  Will work closely with the housing operations managers and Housing Unit-12 staff to provide customer-oriented services, including check-in and check-outs, recordkeeping, mail and package handling, and enforcing guest/visitor policies for residents and live-in staff during weekend shifts; and provide break officer support for staff breaks and meals and cover desk shifts for weekly desk staff to support vacations, sick time, and emergencies.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  high school diploma or its equivalent; excellent organizational, problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; a desire to work in a collaborative environment; ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and work independently in a fast-paced environment; experience using web-based programs, including e-mail and Microsoft Office; and ability to work in a diverse community and treat all residents, guests, and staff with respect regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, beliefs, abilities or disabilities, or position/rank within the department.  PREFERRED:  bachelor’s degree and customer service or office experience.  Job #23737

Rate of pay: $25.00/hour

The schedule for the position is Friday to Tuesday, 4:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M.
