UW Medical Center - Montlake - Food and Nutrition has an outstanding opportunity for a FOOD SERVICE WORKER 1.

WORK SCHEDULE
  • 50% FTE, 20 hours per week
  • Evenings

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Prepares and serves food items for patient meal service. Ensure food is handled safely and presented attractively
  • Maintains safety and sanitation standards in work area, actively contributes to team process, and maintains cooperative work environment and work to improve quality food and services provided to patients, staff and visitors
  • Manages time to accommodate operation flow in the dish room and kitchen, with regards to washing pots and pans, keep up with patient meal trays, picking up garbage’s and sanitizing carts

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Wipe down work area with Oasis solutions. Check and prep starter positions for all supplies, condiments, silverwares, hot base, domes, and trays. Check par level stock on the fridge and check expiration dates
  • Work in the tray assembly line. In charge of the ticket printer. Put menu on the tray, retrieve hot food from the cook’s area. Check and ensure hot food items quality and presentation.
  • Assemble the tray using the proper plating guidelines accurately and attractively. Restock area and refrigerators with supplies for next day operation. Use FIFO method.
  • Brew and set up Regular and decaf coffee.
  • Prep and load trays to Ambassador Carts.
  • Work in the dish room and team up with your co-porters to accomplish task and schedule in the dish room. Retrieve assigned soiled Patient’s meal tray from the nursing unit.
  • Breakdown/disassembles Patient trays, stacking and racking dishes to be washed.
  • Unload dishes, pots, and pans to the dish machine. Return clean dishes, pots, and pans to proper storage area
  • Collect pots and pans in the Kitchen area. Soak pots and pans in the sink.
  • Monitor and record dinner dish machine temp on the log.

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possession of or eligible for a Food Handler's Permit
