Job Description: |
Deliver financial planning expertise and assist advisors in analyzing the financial situation of high-net-worth clients, develop strategies and make recommendations for Advanced Advice client cases. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the firm in complex financial planning areas such as estate planning, sophisticated tax planning, stock option exercise strategies and small business financial planning. Assists advisors with delivery of financial advice and influencing the client toward action on recommendations.
Priority will be given to candidates located in Minnesota who are able to work on a hybrid basis from our headquarters in Minneapolis. If you are not located close to a physical Ameriprise office, remote work is considered for qualified candidates.
The estimated base salary for this role is $96,200 - $129,900 per year. Base salaries are determined in part based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. Deliver financial planning expertise and assist advisors in analyzing the financial situation of high-net-worth clients.
Develop strategies and make recommendations for Advanced Advice client cases.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the firm in complex financial planning areas such as: estate planning, sophisticated tax planning, stock option exercise strategies and small business financial planning.
Assist advisors with delivery of financial advice and influencing the client toward action on recommendations.
Coordinate with field implementation to support field communication, marketing and training efforts that promote the Advanced Advice Program.
Partner with subject matter experts in and outside the firm to continually improve the quality of advice being given to clients. This includes supporting development of new strategies as well as ongoing maintenance of existing processes, tools and services.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
CFP or ChFC.
5+ years of relevant work experience.
Expert level knowledge in complex financial planning issues.
Solid understanding of financial planning process, tools and compliance/quality.
Minimum of three (3) or more of the following disciplines: estate, tax, small business, retirement, stock options.
Ability to clearly communicate complicated concepts over the phone and e-mail.
Ability to quickly analyze complex situations and synthesize into easy-to-understand advice.
Ability to work both independently and collaborate with others across organization.
Ability to design and develop a new service.
Series 7 or ability to obtain within 150 days.
State securities agent registration (S63 or S66) or ability to obtain within 150 days
State IAR registration (S65 or S66) or ability to obtain within 150 days
Preferred Qualifications
Experience presenting to professionals.
Previous experience working with NaviPlan, MoneyGuide, Bloomberg Income Tax Planner, StockOpter or other common financial planning tools and software.
Advanced degree in a related field such as Juris Doctorate (J.D or M.S. in Financial Services
