University of Minnesota Physiciansisseeking aCertified Pediatric Nurse Practitioneror PA to join ourPediatric ENT practice at M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital and Clinics.
About the Practice:
M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital and Clinics has a thriving pediatric tertiary care practice. Our providers support the outpatient Pediatric ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery needs of M Health Fairview and the inpatient service of Masonic Children's Hospital. The APP will manage routine pediatric ENT concerns including recurrent ear infections, ear tubes, adenoid and tonsil disease, non-surgical congenital ear deformities, ankyloglossia, and hearing loss. In addition, the APP will support our thriving hearing loss/cochlear implant practice and cleft/ facial plastics practice along with all aspects of pediatric tertiary care ENT.
In This Role, You Will:
Initially, spend the first few months observing with providers in our division to learn Pediatric ENT (if you do not have experience in this area). We will develop an educational plan for you. This includes management of common outpatient consults, inpatient consults and post-operative patient management. Additionally, we will provide training on routine procedures including flexible nasal endoscopy, ear cleaning, frenulectomy, ear molding, and etc.
Work in conjunction with our Pediatric ENT providers in the outpatient and inpatient setting at M Health Fairview Pediatric Specialty Clinics and Masonic Children's Hospital.
Participate in morning team rounds on the inpatient service, co-manage inpatient consults and post-operative patients, support our patients with tracheostomies, and be the lead ENT point of contact within the interdisciplinary team. See new inpatient consults throughout the day.
Develop an independent/parallel outpatient practice of routine pediatric ENT patients while co-managing complex patients with our Pediatric ENT physicians.
Your Schedule:
Four 10 hour days per week (Monday thru Friday), daytime schedule
No after hours, weekend or Holiday call responsibility.
Full time 1.0 FTE
We're Looking for a NP/PA Who Is:
A graduate of a formal Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or PA training program.
Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC, PNCB or AANP.
Licensed or eligible to obtain a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Nursing (NP's) or PA equivalent.
Able to meet thresholdcriteria/qualificationsfor credentialing and privileges.

Attention to detail, including following up on labs and plans you made during the patient's visit
Open to working with parents, explaining plans and reasons for studies.
Experience working independently, answering patient, and referring provider phone calls.
