About the Job



OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for driving the 11 passenger Bee Line Shuttle safely around Three Mile Drive and providing excellent customer service to Landscape Arboretum members and visitors. Bee Line Shuttles operate Thursdays-Sundays, April-October each year.
Starting Hourly Rate: $18.00/hour
JOB DESCRIPTION
100%Shuttle Driver
Drive the Toro cart with 11 passenger trailer safely around Three Mile Drive adhering to posted speed limits.
Greet passengers, offer recommendations for attractions at each stop, adhere to a schedule to minimize wait times, and assist visitors in wheelchairs on and off the shuttle.
Maintain radio communication with other shuttle drivers regarding location, at all times.
Communicate issues to supervisor and vehicle maintenance staff as needed.

Qualifications



Required Qualifications (must be mentioned on application/resume):
High School diploma/GED
Must have a valid driver's license
Ability to lift 20 - 30 lbs
Age 19 or older
Ability to work as a team or individually and follow directions
Must have good customer service skills and the ability to interact with guests of all ages
Requires the ability to sit or stand for up to 4 hours continuously
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds in various settings
Familiarity with Minnesota Landscape Arboretum programs, grounds, and buildings.

About the Department



The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is a community outreach unit of the University of Minnesota's College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences. The Arboretum is located west of Minneapolis/St Paul and its 1,200 acres traverse the municipalities of Chaska, Chanhassen and Victoria. As a member of the American Public Garden Association and an accredited museum through the American Alliance of Museums, the Arboretum is a tremendous public asset.
