Job Summary:  Minimum/Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications for all ranks (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Full Professor):

PhD in Horticulture, Plant Breeding, or related field at the time of appointment.
Experience in plant breeding.
Experience with marker-assisted selection and familiarity with genomic tools in plant breeding.
Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
Evidence of a high potential for teaching excellence. Evidence could include completion of a college teaching certificate program.
Evidence of a high potential for obtaining sustained extramural funding and publication in various aspects of plant breeding and genetics.
Demonstrated ability to work with industry in terms of partnerships, collaborations, sponsored programs, or in other ways.
Proven oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications, and strong scientific writing and technical presentation skills.
Potential for obtaining sustained extramural funding and publication in various aspects of plant breeding and genetics.
Additional Minimum Qualifications for the ranks of Associate Professor and Full Professor:
Demonstrable commitment to and success in teaching excellence.
Strong record for sustained extramural funding and publication in aspects of breeding and genetics.
