Job Description:
The Principal Product Developer provides expertise in developing and enhancing products, services, and processes by translating customer needs into technical solutions. This role requires strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, a self-driven attitude, excellent communication, and teamwork abilities.
What you will be doing:
Planning, designing, developing, and testing software systems or applications.
Working closely with other teams to ensure change and release requirements are met.
Collaborating with Product QA to review and resolve test errors.
Designing and delivering training, mentorship, and support for other developers.
Providing leadership, coaching, and accountability to the team while recommending and implementing best practices.
Optimizing processes through automation, continuous integration, and other methods.
Staying current with external trends to incorporate into products and processes.
Acting as an evangelist for Epicor at internal and external events.
What you will likely bring:
Experience with testing methodology and the ability to propose and implement new ideas.
Proven leadership and team management skills with a focus on meeting technical deadlines.
Excellent customer service, written, and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
Ability to mentor others and act as a thought leader and change agent.
10+ years of progressive experience, including 4+ years of specialized industry experience.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
What could set you apart:
Proficiency in UniBasic programming and debugging and the Manage 2000 toolset.
Expertise in technologies such as VB.NET, JavaScript (Native, jQuery, jQueryMobile), XML/XSLT, SOAP/REST Web Services.
Familiarity with tools like Visual Studio, VisualBuild scripting, InstallShield, Team Foundation Server, Sub-Version, and Tortoise SVN.
Experience with interfaces such as VSI Faxing, Vertex, Text Messaging, Email, and USPS.
Knowledge in areas like Build Machine Maintenance, Web Source Control, and nightly builds.
