ManTech Release Train Engineer in United States

Currently, we are seeking a motivated, career and team-oriented Agile Release Train Engineer in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Continuous Diagnostic & Mitigation (CDM) Data Services Program. The CDM Data Services Program is a critical component of CISA’s national effort to ensure the defense and resilience of cyberspace. This is a remote position where the candidate can work from any location within the United States provided, they are able to work on an eastern time zone schedule.

The CDM Data Services Program mission is to provide a standardized platform to collect, transform, and integrate cybersecurity data from relevant authoritative data sources into a coherent data, delivering actionable information into Agency and Federal Dashboards to identify risk areas in support of mitigation as well as to facilitate coordinated agency and national response to cyber-threats.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating Program Increment (PI) planning, visualizing and managing the flow of features and capabilities from ideation to analysis, implementation, and release.

  • Outlining business and technical goals that development teams intend to achieve and the relationship to program objectives.

  • Coaching the ART on Agile / SAFE Principles and mindset, course correct any Anti-Patterns.

  • Managing and coordinating large and complex development projects, facilitate synchronization events (i.e. meetings and processes) and coordinating between cross functional teams.

  • Helping manage risk and dependencies between teams. Escalating and tracking impediments. Providing input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.

  • Facilitation of system demos that provide integrated view of new features for the iteration delivered by all the teams on the ART.

  • Representing the development teams in front of senior leadership to provide status updates, acquiring feedback or approval.

  • Performing a critical role in the data driven decision making process. Creating and interpreting metrics to guide the organization to continuously improve. Analyzing data used to track key performance indexes providing insights and context to the results.

  • Creating an environment of continuous improvement by facilitating Inspect and Adapt workshops.

  • Initiating strategic efforts to enhance product development workflow and process.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification.

  • A bachelor’s degree in IT-related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • A minimum of (5) five years of experience in IT Project Management in Agile environments.

  • A minimum of (3) three years of experience as a Release Train Engineer leading an ART with at least 3 Agile Software Development Teams.

  • Lean-Agile Leadership Mindset and able to coach agile principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments in a production environment with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated coordination and project management skills with at least 2 years’ experience in leading cross-functional development work in the production environment.

  • High organizational agility and ability of representing the product development team in communication with the senior leadership.

  • Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability (EOD)

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
