Summary of Duties:
This position is responsible for the installation and repair of networking infrastructure and its supporting electronics for data service to both wired and wireless infrastructure at WSU Pullman. This includes installation and termination of copper and fiber optic cables; testing and certification of copper and fiber optic cables; responding to customer requests for new service and activation of new services; responding to customer complaints received through the ticketing system, resolving and effectively communicating with customers; configuration and installation of network edge electronics; configuration and installation of wireless access point devices; monitoring and testing of data electronics for performance and troubleshooting purposes.
Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in a related technology field AND zero to three (0-3) years of professional experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Working knowledge of desktop computing and Windows operating system.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite, or similar programs/systems.
• Must have, or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to see and distinguish different colors.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Technical training and demonstrated working experience with networking electronics supporting communication services.
• Working knowledge of standards associated with telecommunications industry.
• Experience installing communications data cabling.
• BICSI Installer 1 and 2 Certification.

Monthly Salary: Range 03iT | $5,719 to $7,695 (Step A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=357-28 OR applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
