About the Job
100% With guidance from the PI, the successful candidate will conduct independent research studies to determine immune mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of chronic liver disease including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and execution of studies to investigate the role of immune pathways in liver disease using techniques including genotyping, flow cytometry, cell culture, western blotting, and biochemical/molecular assays. This work will include literature searches, hypothesis development, experimental design, performing experiments, and documenting results in lab notebooks and publications. Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students will be expected.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in a biological science and research experience in the field of chronic liver disease.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate should be a critical thinker and detail-oriented, have strong work ethics, and excellent communication skills.
