Summary of duties: This position is responsible for approving wiring plans for new installations. Plans and performs jobs of installing and maintaining a variety of electrical equipment such as control panels, switchboards, junction boxes, switches, etc. Connects and disconnects electric powered machines; repair motors and generators; replaces fuses and sets circuit breakers on high and low tension circuits. Diagnoses electrical trouble. Uses hand and power tools. Works from wiring diagrams. Planning in the role may involve determination of the method and sequence of operation and selection of materials to be used, establishment of work procedures. This position may be responsible for executing repairs, trouble shooting and performing preventative maintenance on site equipment.

Interprets mechanical drawings to plan layout and install electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and applicable codes.
Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Tests electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Leads the inspection of electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with MN state applicable codes.
Executes maintenance schedules, records findings, and maintains safe and efficient production.
Maintains records of repairs made, informs leadership of issues that arise, and offers recommendations for resolution.
Determines type and cost of materials required for projects, ensure specifications and drawings are accurate.
Mentors, coaches, and provides work direction to other technicians as their assignments relate to electrical work.
Uses professional tools such as an ohmmeter, amp meter, voltmeter, or oscilloscope to validate the connectivity of a circuit.
May be tasked with performing preventative maintenance and the repair/troubleshooting of equipment, if the need arises.
Observes and complies with Company safety procedures at all times.
Will own routine maintenance and electrical projects of all Prima Power equiptment on site.
Requirements:
5 or more years of related work experience
2 year Technical school or Associates degree in a related field
Formal Electricians training certificate
Demonstrated completion of the board exam licensing as a Master Electrician
Holds state issued Master Electrician certification.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a First Aid certification.
