JCB is a Long Island based environmental consulting & testing firm and is offering a paid internship to students/graduates. Interns will gain experience in reading and interpreting CSI and AIA program specifications, blueprints, drawings, bidding documents and project management for large construction/management projects. Open to students and/or graduates in the environmental, health and safety, construction management, engineering, architectural, or other science/construction related disciplines. Many internship positions are available and successful candidates are often offered part-time or full-time positions upon completion of internship. 50-75 seasonal positions. Location: Various construction and remediation sites throughout Suffolk & Nassau. Salary: $20.00 an hour. Overtime is required. $27.00 an hour with overtime. Gas stipend. Training: Interns provided with training and relevant NYS Department of Labor and Department of Health certifications. We are hiring for Summer Internship positions performing Environmental Consulting & Testing Services. We are willing to train the right individuals. If you are looking for a great experience with hands-on training, this company is for you! All Majors are welcome! You will also get free training and certification. Work shifts often range from 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, with additional overtime hours daily. A general open availability and flexibility ensures greater success. The main work schedule begins June 10 and runs generally through Labor Day. However, certification classes necessary to participate in the internship program and training are scheduled in late May and early June. Responsibilities: * Daily tasks may include collecting appropriate environmental samples or utilizing field equipment to verify remediation/abatement contractor's compliance with regulations and specifications. * Effective communication between on site project staff and office staff, ability to neatly complete project forms and ability to work independently a must Following are a few initial Qualifications that will help determine if the internship is right for you. * Must be over 18 * Must have your own car and be willing to drive throughout Nassau and/or Suffolk County * Must have a NYS Drivers License or obtain a NYS Non-Driver ID for State Certification Purposes * Must be available to work flexible shifts (7 days a week 24 hours a day) *Open to students and/or graduates in the environmental, health and safety, construction management, engineering, architectural, or other science/construction related disciplines.
