About the Job
Assistant Professor of Anglophone Literature 1500-1800 The Department of English in the College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position to begin fall semester 2024 (8/26/2024). We are seeking an Assistant Professor of Anglophone Literature 1500-1800, including the literatures of Britain, America, and/or other English-speaking regions, field of specialization open. Appointment will be 100% time over the nine-month academic year (late-August to late-May). Appointment will be at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor. Salary is competitive.
Faculty in the Department of English in the College of Liberal Arts are expected to maintain an active program of scholarly research or creative activity that includes publication, exhibition, or performance; develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses; advise students; and contribute service appropriate for the rank of appointment to the department, college, University, and profession.

About the Department
The Department of English serves approximately 400 majors and thousands of University of Minnesota undergraduate students. The teaching, scholarship and other creative work of the English faculty covers a broad range that includes literature, language, creative writing, literacy and rhetorical studies, linguistics and cultural inquiry, as well as the theories and documents that inform and critique these disciplines. The department also houses a distinguished MA/PhD program in literature and an outstanding 3-year MFA program in creative writing.
