Position Summary and Duties
The Design Thinking and Innovation Lab Assistant will provide support to course lectures and interactive design learning activities in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship cornerstone course, Design Thinking and Innovative Solutions. Responsibilities include developing and supporting both classroom and experiential activities focused on teaching the fundamental principles of innovation and human centered design. Course model involves two weekly 75 – 100 minute classroom sessions per section. Learning activities will be taught within the established behavioral outcomes of the course and delivered to both large and small groups of undergraduate students working on applied design projects on and around the Loyola University Maryland campus. The types of activities may include but are not limited to storytelling and the i6 and IDEO concepts of brainstorming, team building, creativity, feedback, personal and group presentations, user interviews, iteration, co-creation, gap analysis, and implementation.
Required Qualifications
Competitive applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree and formal academic or professional training in the concepts of design thinking, innovation or user centered design.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or previous teaching, coaching or professional experience in a for-profit or socially mined start-up or innovation center of an existing company.
