Role Description The Site Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations at our logistics site in Plattsburgh, NY. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with a proven background in logistics and supply chain management. This role demands ensuring operational efficiency, fostering a culture of safety, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee daily site operations of transportation operations. Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Optimization: Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity. Manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and timely replenishment. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and high customer satisfaction. Analyze operational data to identify trends, resolve issues, and uncover improvement opportunities. Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of coordinators and staff. Oversee financial aspects of the site, including budgeting and cost control. Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Champion continuous improvement initiatives using OSHA principles. Forecast workload and headcount needs, strategically staffing to meet operational demands. Manage a depth chart for critical roles, ensuring cross-training and preparedness. Develop and prepare supervisors and leads for success, grooming them for potential advancement. Set clear daily expectations with supervisors, providing strategic direction for each shift. Conduct daily meetings to establish goals for productivity, safety, and quality, and allocate resources as necessary. Monitor inbound and outbound operations, adjusting staffing levels to prioritize critical tasks. Track and report key metrics to the Director of Operations, driving accountability and performance. Ensure asset management and loss prevention measures are effective. Requirements: 3+ years of proven experience in transportation or logistics operations, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role. Valid CDL license Diesel mechanic experience Proven experience in warehouse management, with a focus on achieving KPIs, effective time management, and cost savings. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs may be necessary. Steel-toed shoes are required. Preferred Skills: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) is preferred. Working Hours: 40 - 50 hours per week.
