The Behavioral Health Specialist is a critical role in the psychiatric care of
patients. We aspire to be an inclusive culture where every team member,

experience. This position also serves as a system-wide resource, providing
direct patient care and safety including supervision and management of
children and adolescents.
The psychiatric emergency department provides triage services 24 hours a day
to patients suffering from a range of mental health and behavioral disorders.
Our primary purpose is to increase patient stability for transfer or
discharge. Primary responsibilities of Behavioral Health Specialists are
initial psych triage with ongoing watches to monitor the well-being of our
patients. In addition to assessment other responsibilities are patient
de-escalation and team leadership.
