Position Summary | We are looking for a confident Open Rank Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology Faculty to join our knowledgeable team at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. The Morehouse School of Medicine, one of the nation’s fastest growing medical schools, located in downtown Atlanta, GA, invites applications for a faculty appointment in the Department of Pathology. Qualified applicants with experience in teaching medical students and dedicated to teaching Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology to medical students are sought for an open rank faculty position. This position will function as a member of a collaborative educational team which develops and delivers the Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology content across an integrated, educational program. This position has no associated clinical duties, and Morehouse School of Medicine can be flexible regarding appointment (full-time or part-time), with demonstrated excellence and commitment to teaching Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology. The school’s mission is "to lead the creation and advancement of health equity and health justice” We are committed to training and educating the next generation of healthcare learners and leaders. This includes the goal of expanding health education and healthcare by increasing the number of physicians trained in Georgia, with particular focus on serving the widely distributed communities of rural Georgia, and across the nation. The school has implemented a systems-based curriculum that integrates disciplines and incorporates interactive methodologies and an ragogical teaching philosophy. Immunization Requirements | It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination. |
