Technical Program Manager, Structuring Analyst, Data Centers

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Math, Statistics, or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience structuring wholesale energy market business agreements, including retail energy supply, PPA agreements, and investments.
  • 2 years of experience managing projects.
  • Experience in programming and building quantitative models that leverage SQL based queries to convert data into business insights.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in Python.
  • Understanding of applied and financial mathematics concepts and techniques (including statistical techniques, option pricing, and monte carlo simulation techniques) with experience performing quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to coordinate with energy experts and non-experts while leading projects requiring inputs from multiple teams.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.

About the job

As a Technical Program Manager focused on Structuring Analysis in our Energy Portfolio Management team, you will lead individual strategic initiatives and projects and work with teams across the company in support of Google's global data center energy portfolio, including our efforts to reach 24/7 carbon-free energy and other clean energy objectives. In particular, you will focus on providing structuring expertise to the energy team by reviewing the portfolio impact of non-standard agreement structures, analysis, risks, and non-standard business agreement terms and conditions while proactively identifying improvements that support portfolio optimization.

You will also play an instrumental role on the team evaluating and structuring investments to support the energy portfolio’s goals. This includes supporting and guiding execution on specific commercial agreement points driven by data derived from financial modeling while identifying and optimizing for portfolio wide goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with energy portfolio optimization and contract management teams to identify new structuring opportunities, while incorporating a comprehensive view of the portfolio.
  • Guide participants to identify, structure, and price non-standard agreements.
  • Work closely with our Global Energy Portfolio Manager and Energy Analysts to create analysis to support portfolio management transactions, evaluate investment opportunities, and assist in the facilitation of transaction documentation and structuring.
  • Assess and translate competition, industry trends, emerging challenges, and changes in the marketplace into structuring strategies.
  • Identify and develop innovative solutions that improve the way the portfolio is managed while delivering on key objectives.
