We're excited to share that our client is a thriving medical devices company located just northwest of Boston! They're publicly traded and have a fantastic leadership team. This brand-new role reports directly to the Corporate Controller and will give you amazing visibility with top executives. Just a heads up, you'll be working in the office five days a week!
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, and interfacing with the various department heads as well as executives in the C-Suite, the Assistant Controller will manage the monthly close process of the INC/US entity as well as oversee the annual/quarterly audit and SOX requirements.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the month-end close process (INC/US entity), including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations and financial analysis
Manage/coordinate the annual and quarterly audit/SOX requirements with external auditors
Oversee and manage staffs performance of the A/P function
Thorough analysis and commentary on operating expenses to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to US GAAP reporting and procedural standards
Prepare/calculate leasing schedules and reconciliations in accordance with ASC 842
Prepare the quarterly consolidated cash flow statement for 10-K/Q reporting
Assist the Corporate Controller in calculating/populating 10-K/Q reporting tables
Prepare and present monthly financial results to the Executive Team
Prepare/review quarterly memos, including Goodwill/Intangible impairment and bad debt review
Perform the annual Goodwill/Intangible Asset and Fixed Asset impairment analysis
Prepare and submit multiple Government Surveys and Censuses
Support day-to-day requests from Sales, Operations and Finance for financial analysis and reporting as needed. Assume other projects and assignment as directed by management
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science, preferably in Accounting/Finance
8+ years of combined public accounting and industry experience
CPA preferred
Experience working in a publicly traded and SOX compliant company
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
High level skills in Excel including pivot tables and v-lookups, as well as experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365
Possess broad knowledge of accounting concepts, analytical skills, and curiosity to ensure financial accuracy and process improvements
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and constantly changing workload
Strong work ethic, self-motivated, drive for completion
Willingness and ability to perform day-to-day operational tasks as well as high level analysis
Proactive, responsive and timely problem solver with project management skills, pays attention to detail, drives processes and meets deadlines
Ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships within the organization to work collaboratively across the Company with a positive outlook and motivated attitude
