Summary of Duties:
The primary function of this position is to perform clerical duties as part of a collection group that collects on student loans, student accounts and accounts receivable. The incumbent will perform complex clerical duties associated with the fiscal and administrative management of the computerized Student Financial System Student Loan System (ECSI). Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform work requiring knowledge and experience specific to student loans, student accounts and accounts receivable. They will interact with and provide students, staff and the public with information and interpretation of federal, state and University policies and procedures. They will answer inquiries in person, on the telephone and compose written communications. Incumbent will establish and maintain records, files and statistical information using established methods.
Required Qualifications:
• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.
• Customer service experience including working with the public.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency level with Microsoft software programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience using WSU systems.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency level with Microsoft or other database applications such as Access or FoxPro.
• Experience working in a busy office environment that requires multi-tasking.
