6 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs Available 04/26/2024- 12/15/2024. Operate 75 to 100 hp tractors, tractor drawn machinery, and self propelled machinery to cultivate spray and harvest crops including salad and leaf greens such as kale and Swiss chard onions carrots root vegetables cabbage tomatoes peppers eggplant and squash depending on farm location. Will harvest and process hemp. Manually plant cultivate and harvest produce in an organic environment. Use hand tools such as shovels trowels hoes tampers pruning hooks shears and knives. Much work will require extensive bending stooping kneeling and ground work. Duties include tilling soil and applying fertilizers transplanting weeding thinning or pruning crops. Operate monitor and maintain irrigation system. Repair and maintain farm vehicles implements and mechanical equipment. All machinery or equipment operation will be done within the farm settings and are incidental to work at our business locations. Apply organic fertilizers to crops. Inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress. Will monitor fields and greenhouses for plant infestations and use treatments appropriate for organic use in both a preventative or infestation situation. Clear and maintain irrigation ditches. Drive tractors on the farm, drive tractors and other motorized equipment between fields. Drive trucks and other self propelled machinery between fields and packing shed transporting harvested produce. Record information about crops, such as yields, or costs. Workers must have experience in working with farm sanitary and safety practices as required in Good Agricultural Practices GAP plans. Must also have experience working with and meeting production standards. Due to health and safety concerns relating to pesticide application and the operation of equipment on our farm workers are required to have the ability to comprehend simple oral and written instructions in English. After hiring, employer may conduct random drug tests at employers expense.. Must be physically able to lift up to 80 pounds.
