This critical position within our organization combines managing digital fabrication facilities with leading development projects that push the limits of digital manufacturing and design workflows.<br><br>The successful candidate will oversee a portion of the daily operations of the ITL, ensuring equipment is maintained, safety protocols are followed, and projects are completed to the highest standard. In addition to operational duties, this role requires a proactive approach to development, involving research into new fabrication technologies, materials, and methods that can enhance the lab's productivity, creativity, and efficiency.<br><br>The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership qualities, and a forward-thinking mindset. They should have a strong background in digital fabrication technologies, experience in project management, and a track record of innovation in a similar role. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively across teams, and a passion for education and development within the field of digital fabrication are essential.<br><br><strong>Position Duties</strong><br><ul> <li>Key responsibilities include managing a team of student work-study operators and production assistants, providing training and support to lab users, coordinating with customers on projects, and leading the development of new applications for digital fabrication that align with the organization's strategic goals.</li> <li>Develop new tools and workflows around IT data analytics</li> <li>Turn concepts and new product visions into reality, managing planning, processes, and project details.</li> <li>Define the protocol and establish a scope of testing required to prove and validate a concept.</li> <li>Meet complex challenges with an imaginative state-of-the-art approach supported by feasible solutions.</li> </ul> <br><strong>With the Digital Production Managers:</strong><br><ul> <li>Evaluate and implement new equipment.</li> <li>Head the training and management of student workers.</li> <li>Head the advisement and training of facility users in the safe and proper use of digital fabrication equipment.</li> <li>Assist in the development of communication campaigns for internal and external audiences.</li> <li>Continual and consistent approach towards applying contemporary workflows to operations and evolving efficiencies.</li> <li>Ensure optimal functionality of all fabrication equipment and peripherals, including hardware and software support.</li> <li>Contact and coordinate with hardware or software vendors for service.</li> <li>Prepare materials documenting both end-user procedures and technical methods.</li> <li>Assist in the development of efficient digital file submission, processing, and troubleshooting.</li> <li>Perform various administrative duties relating to the operations of production facilities.</li> <li>Implement facility policies and protocols.</li> <li>Provide any additional support to ITL operations and all other duties as requ
