JOB REQUIREMENTS: Looking for a meaningful career opportunity? Waushara
County is currently accepting applications for a full-time Mechanic.
This position performs a variety of skilled tasks involved in the repair
of heavy construction, maintenance and any other equipment along with
manual labor, doing repair of all machinery and equipment in and around
the County of Waushara. High School diploma with additional training in
repair and maintenance of diesel truck engines and equipment. Requires
possession of a valid Wisconsin Driver\'s license and Commercial
Driver\'s License, with endorsements for air brakes and tanker. Wage
range is \$22.41-\$23.77 (based on relevant experience), plus benefits.

Reasonable accommodations under ADA. 1. Diagnose diesel tier 4 engines
and after treatment systems. Tunes cars, trucks and other engines. Check
and repair drive train, universal joints and tie rods. Repair and
replace electrical systems such as wires, starters and alternators.
Grease fittings, change filters and oil and replace hoses. Be able to
use diagnostic tool to diagnose diesel engines. 2. Winterize all
county-owned vehicles and equipment. Overhaul engines and transmissions
as needed. 3. Make service calls when machinery breaks down. Maintain
saws, generators, pumps and small engines. Repair and replace springs,
shock absorbers, king pins and other suspension mechanisms. 4. Repair
hydraulic equipment, tightens and/or replaces packings, seals pumps and
rams. Weld and braze machinery and equipment. 5. Replace, repair and
adjust brakes, clutches, transmissions and differentials. 6. Do road
tests, check work performed to assure that it is properly repaired. 7.
Transport mower people, move machinery to different sites or locations.
Fix tires, mount new or recap tires. 8. Put sand salt spreaders on and
removal of same, mount/remove plows and wings, change plow, wing and
grader blades, and sharpen blades for mowers. Put brush cutters on and
take off. Paint plows. 9. Deliver fuel and equipment to crews out in the
field. 10. Work in parts room and pick up parts. Sweep floors, pick up
waste paper. Unload paint for striping. Put up road signs. Do body work
as needed. Operate County owned equipment, as needed. 11. Other duties
as required by management. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Have considerable experience in the repair and
maintenance of diesel truck engines and equipment. Must have arc, wire
