Data Engineering Manager Responsibilities
  • Lead Engineers working with engineering teams to build products and/or infrastructure required to support products at scale. Make sure the technology stack handles product needs and scales as requirements change and usage increases. Understand technical architectures, tooling needs, automation plans, product launch plans, and other issues and create comprehensive plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges. Communicate cross-functionality and provide constructive feedback into product design, and help craft solutions to difficult user experience and system integrations problems. Hold technical discussions within organization and have strategic influence. Drive engineering efforts. Balance the need to "keep things running" with allocating time to long-term, high-impact projects. Mentor engineers on team. Recruit and hire engineers. Play a critical role in helping to set the goals and direction for team. Telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. permitted (remote work benefit).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or in a data, software, or project engineering-related occupation
  • Experience must include five years of experience in the following: 1. Business intelligence and data warehousing
  • 2. Data architecture
  • 3. Writing SQL statements
  • 4. Programming in Python, Perl, or Java
  • 5. Driving the vision for business intelligence and data warehousing across a product vertical, and defining and executing on a plan to achieve that vision
  • 6. Managing delivery of high impact dashboards and data visualizations
  • 7. Driving data quality across the product vertical
  • 8. Driving the design, building, and launching of new data models and data pipelines in production.

$225,859/year to $279,400/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
