will accomplish as a Senior Buyer at TAPCO: Ensuring that the highest
quality materials, parts, and supplies are purchased at the most
effective pricing while meeting delivery requirements. This position
will work with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Receiving to
understand material requirements for projected sales. This position will
also have direct contact with suppliers to handle expediting activities,
and pricing negotiations, and assist in the development of a world-class
supplier base to support all TAPCO procurement initiatives, with focused
effort on improving on-time deliveries and cost control in a Lean
Manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Purchasing
Manager. Position Qualifications: Monitor inventory levels on selected
product groups Place purchase orders and manage them effectively
Understand Bills of Material and item usage rates as it relates to EOQ
and EAUs Work with the Purchasing Manager to improve strategic planning,
mitigate risk to the supply chain, reduce costs without sacrificing
quality and enhance TAPCO\'s competitive edge Maintain good vendor
relationships and promote our excellent corporate image Communicate
order status internally with professionalism Respond to internal
customers with the appropriate sense of urgency Quickly resolve
problems, reconcile vendor returns and invoice discrepancies Work as
part of a cohesive team, enjoy making your contributions Quote new
products by sending RFQs to competitive suppliers as directed Actively
seek out continuous improvement opportunities for the Purchasing Group
as well as for Tapco in a whole, and present these ideas on a regular
basis Complete reports and special projects as assigned Required
Experience Bachelor\'s degree with a focus on Materials or Supply Chain
Management; related study and/or commensurate job experience may be
considered Well-rounded knowledge of Purchasing terms and standard
practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Proficiency using
MRP/ERP software and Demand interpretation is required Excellent time
management skills with the ability to multi-task Willingness to learn
