Scope of Responsibility: To work directly with residents in assisting and/or performing activities of daily living plus other duties as specified.
Essential Functions: Rating (for evaluation purposes only).
- Carry out duties and function to support Walnut Hills as assigned.
- Live the mission and values to improve the quality of services for residents and team members on the Walnut Hills campus.
- Respect residents’ rights and adhere to rules of resident care and services as described in the Walnut Hills Employee Handbook.
- Assist or perform personal care for residents including bathing, dressing, grooming, skin care, oral care and toileting (or incontinence care.)
- Distribute meal trays and assist residents with eating when necessary. Assist with serving meals in dining room.
- Pass ice water, juices, and supplements to residents.
- Keep record of residents’ food and oral intake and/or output when ordered.
- Answer signal lights or call bells in a timely manner.
- Assist residents in walking, transferring from bed to chair, transporting from place to place with use of wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, canes etc. as needed, and to position bed-fast residents.
- Clean residents’ personal equipment and keep rooms tidy and clean.
- Change linens on beds.
- Collect urine and fecal specimens when necessary.
- Clean areas of Retirement Home designated by shift assignment or supervisor.
- Attend the required number of educational in-services mandated by the State and provided by the facility.
Position Requirements:
- Education & Experience:
- STNA or Nursing Assistant training required.
- Must maintain license as required by the facility or the state.
- First aid training every 3 years required.
- Completion of at least the sixth grade in school required.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English language required.

- Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions:
Employees/applicants may not pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or others. Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without the use of prosthetic devices and/or reasonable accommodations.
- Frequent fingering, walking sitting, talking hearing and repetitive motions required.
- Occasional reaching, knelling, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling required.
- Requires the ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally and up to 60 pounds frequently.
- Requires the ability to see things clearly at 20 inches or less, as is common in visual inspection or computer work.
- This position is not substantially exposed to adverse working conditions. Adherence to universal precautions is required.
- Requires the ability to lift residents to a chair with he assistant of another person and a gait belt.

Details:Starting wages are $15.53 to $19.84, based on experience, skills & abilities. Workdays can be any day of the week, including holidays and weekends and any shift. Both Full-Time and Part-Time positions available from 8 to 40 hours per week.
