Job Description:
"We have an exciting opportunity for a Vice President, Actuary to join the team at Ameriprise! This position would be responsible for leading the Annuity valuation team and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, regulations and requirements of the Company's reported actuarial balances. Influence strategic direction for area, recognize business opportunities and issues and makes decisions impacting business financial results. Well versed in industry issues requiring research, decision making and communication of impacts to the company to upper management.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Annuity valuation team within Corporate Actuarial. Prioritizing department workflow to meet deadlines while providing a high quality product. Sets immediate and long-term strategic direction for area.Provide people leadership. Manage performance, seek professional development opportunities for each direct report, and provide the mentorship and feedback that are vital to have a strong performing team.Provide thought leadership, develops strategies and drives innovation. Monitor and influence potential changes in industry regulations and using the information to find opportunities and actions for area.Manage and build relationships with both internal and external clients. Influence and interact with people at various levels across the company including upper levels of the organization.Participate in and lead corporate teams and industry groups providing input and direction to strategic decisions.Professional development to maintain Actuarial credentials.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or a related field10+ years of actuarial experienceFSA, MAAAStrong relationship and communication skills in working with colleagues, influencing customers on recommendations and analysis resultsPreferred QualificationsAbout Our CompanyWe're a diversified financial services leader with more than $1 trillion in assets under management and administration.
