Summary:

BLUvera, Mortenson's vertically integrated self-perform manufacturing and prefabrication affiliate, utilizes advanced design, engineering, and 3D modeling to deliver and install prefabricated construction products on Mortenson projects. By utilizing DfMA principles (design for manufacturing and assembly), our BLUvera team leverages technology in the manufacture and fabrication of steel frame wall panels and data center components for our project sites. The BLUvera team continually enhances offerings in prefabricated scopes of work that drive value for Mortenson as a whole. Highlights of your work as an intern with this team will include:

Completing construction change orders
Handling shop drawings, submittals, and the request for information (RFI) processes
Assisting with purchase orders and subcontractor agreements
Partnering in construction sequencing and schedule maintenance
Collaborating with team in preconstruction and pre-installation meetings
Attending subcontractor coordination meetings and assisting with correspondence
Utilizing industry-leading technology and software to assist in manufacturing for construction processes.
Handling material procurement



Qualifications

Are currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Construction Management, Construction, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related degree
Possess the right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
Demonstrate strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills
Have proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills
Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively manage multiple tasks
Have access to reliable transportation
Possess a current driver's license

Are a current junior (rising senior)
Have previous related internship experience, construction field-based internship experience preferred
Have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0
Have a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills and show initiative
Showcase a positive and professional attitude and solid customer service skills

Additional Information:

You will join an exciting and ever-changing industry with a minimum 12-week internship with our team. This opportunity is full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer of 2024. The internship is based at of our BLUvera plant office in St. Paul, MN.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. H-1B lottery registration submission and completion of the STEM OPT I-983 training plan are considered sponsorship.
