HEAVY AND TRACTOR-TRAILER TRUCK DRIVER, X1, - BINGEN
This job opportunity is limited to qualified, available workers that are currently eligible to work in the United States, per federal regulation.
Truck Driver will drive long distances daily to deliver produce and pick up supplies. Will perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles. Will fuel the vehicles before or after trips to insure they are full on departure and keep a fuel log.
Truck Driver will deliver and unload produce to customers and must know and follow each customer’s unique set of rules. Truck Driver will pick up supplies from vendors and must know and follow each vendor’s unique set of rules.
In the fields, Truck Driver will:
1. Transport produce from fields to packing shed.
2. Transport produce between store and packing shed.
3. Load and unload field trucks.
4. Load customer orders at the packing shed.
Truck Driver will drive a tractor-trailer and back up to loading docks.
Will load vehicles in the reverse order of the deliveries so the first delivery can be unloaded first. Will unload supplies and produce at Dickey’s store and their packing shed.
Truck Driver may also transport employees to store, bank, airport, houses, fields, doctor, hospital, and any other place considered necessary by Dickey Farms.
Equipment Operator Specific Duties:
- Drives tractor.
- Operates forklift and pallet jack at loading docks.
- Stacks produce boxes on pallets and shrink wraps the pallets when necessary.
- Spreads ice on top of pallets when necessary.
- Operates forklift and pallet jack at Dickey’s store to move bins and pallets.
Job duties also include:
- Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed according to the inspection regulations.
- Light construction such as helping making necessary repairs to the facility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
12 months of truck driving experience
Ability to lift 60 lbs.
Truck Driver must be able to speak, read, and understands English well enough to fill out daily paperwork, understand load sheets, talk on the phone, speak with English speaking customers and vendors, and follow instructions given in English.
Truck Driver must possess a US Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or a Licencia Federal de Conductor (LFC) license.
Must be able to drive and manage freeway and city traffic without difficulty.
Must know to stop and how to handle paperwork at all mandated State scale check points.
Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
Must be able to plans routes using GPS Systems.
Must keep an activity log.
Must be able to lift and/or load 60lbs continuously.
HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE
Working 40 hours, 7 hours a day Monday – Friday and 5 hours on Saturday
Contract Dates: 4/22/2024 – 11/6/2024
SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS:
28.48 hr.
The payroll period shall be semi-monthly.
The employer will furnish, without charge, all tools, supplies and personal protective equipment required in the performance of the specified work.
The Employer will furnish cooking facilities with working appliances, hot water, a place to
prepare food at no cost to employees occupying employer-provided housing. Employees will purchase their own food and prepare their own meals. In the event that it becomes necessary for the employer to provide 3 meals a day to the workers, the employer will deduct $15.88 per day or the current allowable charge as designated by the DOL from each worker’s pay.
Transportation costs to the job site for domestic workers from outside the local commuting distance of the job site will be reimbursed by the employer after 50% of the contract period. In order to comply with the FLSA, the employer will advance any amount owed prior to the first paycheck. Workers who do not complete 50% of the contract will have the advance deducted from their final paycheck.
Transportation costs from the job site to the workers home will be provided to those domestic workers that complete the entire contract period.
Employer guarantees to offer employment for the hourly equivalent of 3/4 or 75% of the workdays of the work contract beginning with the first day of work.
