The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a full-time, a non-tenure research track faculty member, at an academic rank of Research Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, to join our team of highly productive clinical and basic science faculty in the Division of Vascular Surgery. The successful candidate will conduct research on the etiology of lung transplantation and its treatment. This position requires advanced skills in small animal survival surgery, immunohistochemistry, RNA and DNA processing, PCR, microscopy, flow cytometry and immunoassays. The individual filling this position will have primary responsibility for creation and full implementation of these analytical approaches, the development of experimental designs, and the presentation and publication of research findings. The Department of Surgery (http://www.surgery.ufl.edu) ranks in the top third of all departments nationally in NIH funding, and seeks to become a top ten department in this decade. The successful candidate will be a team member achieving this goal. The Health Science Center is located on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, Florida, and is adjacent to the Colleges of Pharmacy, Nursing, Public Health, Veterinary Medicine, Engineering, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. |
