About the Job



Hubbard School of Journalism seeks to hire a Temporary Technology Assistant who is responsible for assisting and carrying out a variety of technology projects including writing technological documentation for user manuals, support for equipment check out, classroom support and basic computer support. This position will work closely with the Hubbard technology team to resolve technical issues, maintain hardware and software installations, and improve use of school wide software and technical equipment.
This position is for a maximum of 14 hours per week.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Technology Support (100%)
Assisting with the maintenance and preparation of equipment issued for technical skills courses. Includes periodic assistance with receiving, unpacking and maintenance of inventory when new equipment is received
Assist with reservation and checkout procedures for equipment and facilities
Old equipment removal support: wiping machines, scheduling and delivering old equipment
Updating computer applications and installing new equipment
Assisting with equipment installation and testing
Providing classroom IT support during special events
Troubleshoot technical problems as they arise
Data entry and management
Create user guides for equipment

Qualifications



Required Qualifications:
High school degree/GED equivalent
Problem solving skills
Customer service skills
Ability to work independently and in a detail-oriented manner
Technical writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience providing technical support in a university setting
Familiarity with audio visual equipment.
