Emerson Level Systems Business Development Manager in CIUDAD DE MEXICO, Mexico

Job Summary

Based in Mexico, the Level Systems Champion / BDM is responsible to support tank gauging and tank monitoring business growth in Mexico region, guiding Level towards the next Pillar of Measurement Solutions (MSOL) business unit (Identifying growth opportunities through defining new product needs, or through new applications, and finding opportunities to build value and customer dedication through ways to communicate these values optimally to the audience), and the deployment of the Business Unit defined growth programs through Mexico Sales & Marketing organization. Success here is for a large part measured on the products line performance.

In this role, your responsibilities will be

Drive Level Systems Business

  • Develop and implement short and long-term business strategies and goals for the Level Systems product lines (Tank Gauging Systems, Tank Monitoring Systems, Inventory Management Software) across different industries.

  • Support Project Pursuits and Creation of Demand in existing installed base (both Emerson installed base and competitor’s).

  • Coordinate activities to ensure sufficient focus on the production for the sales channels.

Product lines Management

  • Products tiering and positioning, portfolio management

  • Closely supervise volume and price/discount trends; develop price programs

  • Deliver the new products launches - built by the Product Group - to the region

  • Ensure the regional plans are understood and supported by Sales and Service and that everyone is clear on their roles and results for the plan

  • Supervise price and exercise role in Discount Authority process (DoA).

  • Follow up on products profitability and educate on tier management to enhance price and profitability

Provide Support to the Measurement Solutions Sales Organization

  • Deliver sales trainings; value propositions, promotional material, standard processes, etc.

  • Use and promote the use of the sales tools among the Sales Team.

  • Develop driven displacement strategies and tools

  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations; participate at customer events, participate on regional fairs and events, etc.

  • Ensure that collateral material (QBR, Shown Results, etc) originated by MSOL are known by the Sales Force and have the accurate transparency and are available through the proper channels

  • Participate with the Sales Channel and Customers generating documents, abstracts and presentations to be presented at the Emerson Exchange or any other similar event

  • Define and implement marketing strategies through analysis of sales data and current driven position

  • Recommends pricing policy consistent with profit and volume goals

  • Assist with coordination for industry or product trade shows

Identify growth opportunities – applications, markets, technologies

  • Market research for the product lines (market segmentation, sizes, participation rates, growth rates, etc.)

  • Coordinate local marketing initiatives with global and Latin American marketing initiatives

  • Support Country Planning initiatives

  • Actively communicate regional needs.

  • Assist in crafting material when the region requires specific customization of marketing results

  • Be an active member and support the continuous progress of the product marketing team

Actively drive and support cross-product activities

  • Wireless, Safety/SIS, Industry, Instrument Consultancy, Global Marketing Leaders (GML) Initiatives, Global Sales Leaders (GSL) Initiatives, Strategic Account Leaders, etc.

Any other responsibility as assigned by the MSS & Marketing organization

  • Support Quality System

  • Advise the channel of issues where appropriate, including coordinate recalls and CAR holds

  • Participate in POR & S&OP process and provide input and supervise outcome vs forecast

  • Maintain a positive Measurement Solutions image with customers and peers

For this role, you will need:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related field

  • Three (3) years industry experience in instrumentation sales or marketing. Previous experience with Level Measurement and Custody Transfer Systems is a plus.

  • Language: English mandatory for frequent contacts with factory in Europe
