Job Description

 
Responsible for the implementation of a diverse thematic STEAM discovery program. The curriculum must be tailored to meet the needs of 4 and 5 year olds who we be attending kindergarten in the fall. The Director will be required to develop engaging projects and activities that spark the camper's natural curiosity and inquisitiveness. Campers will develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the various components of STEAM. $17 per hour M-F Qualifications: Ability to organize projects Ability to teach in at least one area of STEAM Ability to work with a staff of diverse backgrounds and age groups Ability to accept guidance and supervision Ability to manage camper behavior through the use of sound methods designed to develop behavior that demonstrates respect for self and others Communicate all necessary information to Camp Director Minimum number of hours: 250 hours over 9 weeks of summer programming. Follow all established policies and procedures including time and attendance policy Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control Must be at least 18 years of age Specific Duties and Responsibilities: STEAM Programming: Develop STEAM projects or activities for a group of pre-kindergarten children across various themes Set-up and implement these activities daily, varying as needed Encourage camper interest in the variety of different subjects related to STEAM. Submit orders for supplies after planning out the summer schedule, ensuring timely arrival of materials Keep an ongoing binder with the lesson plans for all activities. Submit completed binder at the end of the summer to the Camp Director. General Camp Duties: Provide support when needed for other staff activities Some duties may be reassigned and other duties assigned as needed Attend Camp Orientation and any other necessary training Location of job - TBD (Lockport, NY)
