Job Description
Purpose and Objective:
To build, maintain, and repair dies, fixtures, and gages to support production.

Major Responsibilities:
1. Identify and solve tool-related production problems
2. Maintain production tooling, including fixtures and gages
3. Complete required documentation for all tool servicing
4. Keep supervisors informed of needs for replacement tooling and any changes made to production tooling
5. Assist with training of apprentices
6. Provide input with tooling development on any new or existing tooling projects
7. Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
8. Conform to the safety, quality, and environmental requirements
Skills Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. General overall knowledge of metal stamping tools
2. Minimum of 8,000 hours of tool and die making experience required
3. Good troubleshooting skills
4. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Educational Experience:
1. High school diploma / GED
2. Formal apprenticeship or documented equivalent8,000 hours of Education/experience required
3. Journeyman’s card desirable

Training Requirements:
1. Proficient with hand tools: Air Grinder / Impact Wrench
2. Proficient with tool room equipment: Band Saw /Drill / Lathe / Mill / Surface Grinder
3. Analytical troubleshooting
