Position Title: Data Science and Analytics Portfolio Manager "Director of Data Analytics"

Position Summary:

Seeking a dynamic leader with proven experience as a data science/analytics/operations research technical expert, team leader of analysts delivering on complex projects, proficient in project management and team growth, and demonstrated results in business development.


Leadership Responsibilities:

  • A senior leadership position leading a division within the company. Directly report to the CEO and a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Consistent year-over-year revenue and profit growth for the data science vertical through deliberate prospecting, capture activities, and federal government contracting proposal contribution to achieve corporate growth targets.
  • Executes capture plans to increase the probability of win.
  • Develops technical and management strategies and oversees multiple complex technical projects.
  • Manages budgets, meets contractual and project deadlines, and oversees multiple teams of various sizes.
  • Manages client delivery relationships to assess performance and provides overall technical and management data science subject matter expertise associated with the contracts.
  • Assures quality of data science program products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews and audits.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has direct supervisory responsibilities including:

• Performs overall contract financial oversight to include labor utilization, estimates at completion, revenue, and maintains profit and loss responsibility.

• Liaison between onsite client delivery teams and corporate departments including HR, Finance, Contracts, Talent Acquisition, and others.

• Oversees a diverse and fluid portfolio of projects and staff.

• Tracks team member hours vs programmed hours in timekeeping system, Unanet.

• Monitors planned vs actual hours for responsible projects; identifies and corrects deviations from planned hours.

• Monitors team travel plans and reviews and approves travel claims ensuring compliance with company and client regulations.

• Completes team member performance evaluations and provides leadership for junior colleagues.

• Provides first line quality review for deliverables.

• Alerts HR to emerging HR and recruitment-related issues.

• Plan task kickoffs, both internal and with prime.

• Assist other related tasks with kickoff planning and transitions.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Holds or has recently held DHS Suitability is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Maintaining and improving existing codebases.
    • Developing, testing, and implementing software systems including complex predictive models.
    • Analyzing, debugging, and testing software / complex predictive models.
    • Developing, coding, and validating machine learning algorithms.
    • Building, coding, and maintaining statistical modeling tools.
    • Building and maintaining data visualizations / analytic outputs to include knowledge of BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Qlik.
  • Experience with federal government contracting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.

Education and Experience:

· 10+ years data science/ operations research experience. 10+ years of leadership experience in government contracting industry.

· Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, or related field required; Master’s degree desired.

· Experience building data visualization using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Qlik.
