Job Description

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Principal Simulation & Analysis Engineers - FEA
Directly support New Product Development (NPD) and Advanced Engineering
projects with Finite Element Analysis of components and assemblies, with
a focus on stress/strain evaluations. Guide the development and use of
other complex models, tools and algorithms related to stress/strain
evaluations to support NPD projects and Advanced Development activities.
Mentor, train, and share FEA knowledge to increase the department\'s
overall capabilities. Model operational environments, perform trade
studies via ANSYS, and provide decision support for alternative
architectures. Consult with teams on loading and boundary conditions and
verify through failure analysis. Recommend geometry or material changes
for design robustness as well as weight, size, and cost optimizations.
Conduct linear and non-linear static analysis, modal analysis, frequency
response, deflection analysis, and dynamic analysis (e.g. drop test
analysis). Conduct fatigue analysis and durability calculations.
Validate simulation results with theory and/or test data. Regularly
articulate complex simulations and their results in an
easy-to-understand format with teammates, senior management, and
executives. Execute analysis on competitive parts and products. Use
highly effective communication skills to quickly understand the depth of
work required and provide trade-offs of accuracy versus time to complete
analysis; articulate and prioritize time constraints where needed.
Receive analysis requests from a variety of customers must be strong in
prioritization, timing, and scope discussions. Grow organizational
capability through knowledge sharing and collaboration with own and
other departments across business units as required. Collaborate with
Design Engineers on Finite Element Analysis methods/techniques to ensure
proper setup and interpretation results. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\'s or equivalent degree in Modeling &
Simulation, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering
field and 7 years of relevant design experience and Finite Element
Analysis or a Master\'s or equivalent degree in Modeling & Simulation,
Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related engineering field and 4
years of relevant design experience and Finite Element Analysis.
Experience must include: 3D CAD experience such as Solidworks or NX
Ansys, LSDYNA, Abaqus and Abaqus Explicit FEA software Hypermesh and
Optistruct software Mechanical principles such as kinematics, structural
materials and standard machine and mechanism components Linear and
Non-linear material modeling and evaluation of different load-based
failure modes (yield, ultimate, and fatigue) Engineering materials,
mechanical properties, and the manufacturing processes associated with
these materials Root cause and failure analysis Nonlinear FEA and
fatigue analysis of on-road or off-road machine components Ability to
travel up to 10% domestically and internationally. \*\*\*\*\*
