Responsibilities Overview The Transportation Systems Analyst is responsible for the management of the Transportation Management System (TMS), e2open, and ensures the smooth operation of Post Consumer Brands transportation technology infrastructure. The Transportation Systems Analyst plays a key role in creating reports used to analyze transportation data, identifies trends, and provide insights to enhance our transportation operations. This role requires strong analytic skills, attention to detail, technical skills, and knowledge of TMS systems. This position interacts with: Customer Operations – to analyze customer delivery metrics and ensure customer orders interact appropriately with the TMS. Supply Chain Planning – to maintain accurate data within the TMS pertaining to internal freight moves. Warehousing – to manage appointment docks that can be executed within site capacity and collaborate in report generation around shared metrics. Procurement – to maintain the accuracy of contracted rates and accessorials in the TMS. Transportation carriers – to act as a partner in optimizing system setup and continuous improvement of both internal and external processes. IT support functions – to act as a liaison between transportation operations and IT to drive system improvements. To understand the integration from e2open to other PCB systems. Transportation Management System Vendor – to act as a partner to focus on continuously improve the TMS setup and best practices. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Customer Focus Focused improvement and optimization of data to further enhance PCB’s service to customers. Effectively and efficiently manage freight orders by providing appropriate communication to PCB internal customers, PCB freight vendors (carriers) and PCB external customers. Technical / Functional Expertise TMS system expert Responsible for the maintenance of the system for Transportation team. Perform rate uploads to the TMS aligning with the determined RFP cycle. Support of Dock Scheduling as needed by DC operations. Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams or external vendors. Primary business contact for IT needs associated with e2open (TMS). Reporting and Analytics Ability to create, pull, and analyze reports using existing tools within the TMS to drive improvements. Utilize PCB reporting tools, such as Tableau, to create dashboards for the transportation team. Partner with the Data and Analytics team to improve on existing reports. Use and enhance existing reporting tools for financial reporting, plan adherence, and Transportation cost out. Results Report on key performance metrics, including but not limited to: On-Time Delivery to Buyer Request Date, and On-Time Delivery to Carrier Appointment Identify and quantify opportunities in transportation and logistics to reduce supply chain costs and improve service. Ensure the TMS system is updated to comply with intended freight routing strategy and working properly for freight payment. Act Develop strong relationships with TMS vendor, transportation vendors, and internal PCB contacts and be a liaison between them. Develop and maintain documentation, including procedures, guidelines, and system manuals. Provide training and support to staff members on transportation system usage and best practices. Organization and People Development Development – Develop yourself against the competency profiles for successful leaders at PCB. Stay familiar with emerging technologies and enhancements in the industry. Provide leadership within the team and cross-functionally represent the group as a professional and viable resource for the company to customers, both internally and externally. Requirements Skills: Broad knowledge of logistics processes and planning systems. Cost control, cost: benefit analysis and the implementation of productivity improvements. Good communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated good business judgment; good understanding of economic principles affecting decisions related to transportation. Good understanding of modes of transportation including international and rail, shipping lanes and material handling. Ability to use technology as a decision support tool. Skill in prioritizing workloads and stress management. Technological and analytical skills. Management Skills: Collaboration, decision-making, problem solving, results orientation, ability to establish clear objectives for self and others; ability to identify and evaluate tactical methods to achieve objectives; identify deviations from plan and facilitate resolution. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately. Ability to focus on Transportation strategies that provide the lowest landed costs, while meeting our internal and external customer requirements. Qualifications Education 4-year college degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or applicable field of study. Professional certification in transportation is desirable (e.g., APICS, CLTD). Experience Two to three years of experience operating in a supply chain-planning environment in areas of operations, materials management, transportation planning or warehousing is preferred. Working knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS). Supply chain management knowledge including operational, supply chain processes and information technology. Ability to leverage data/analytics to drive decisions and manage TMS and carrier performance. Knowledge or experience using Tableau or other business analytics tools.
