POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Cook serves as a member of the Dining and Food Services team and is a year round position.

The role is responsible for preparing all natural whole foods from established menus and recipes for buffet service to the quality standard determined by the Executive Chef.

The ideal candidate is a team player, with a positive attitude and someone who takes pride in the foods prepared and served.

SCHEDULE
Morning and evening shifts available, with at least one weekend shift required. (Kripalu will be flexible to meet staff needs)

ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
-    Effectively prepares assigned items from designed menus and recipes for buffet service to the standards set by the Executive Chef, as well as all advanced preparations required for the next day's meal per the Sous Chef
-    Demonstrates professional behavior and builds positive relationships within the Dining and Food Services Department
-    Cooperates with other staff to assure efficient use of time and resources
-    Performs other tasks as directed by the Senior Sous Chef/ Sous Chef on duty to ensure timely, high quality meal service (i.e., meal set up, menu labels, deep cleaning, etc.)

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS
-    High school diploma
-    1-3 years of professional cooking experience
-    Experience with or interest in preparing vegetarian or natural food and large quantity cooking
