The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is seeking a talented and committed intern to join the External Affairs team this summer. This role provides the opportunity to gain exposure to the various issues of interest to the energy industry. The dates of this internship are mid-May through mid-August and requires a commitment of 35 hours per week. Start and end dates are negotiable.
EEI is the trade association for all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Our office is located in the heart of Penn Quarter, on Pennsylvania Avenue between the U.S. Capitol Building and the White House.
This is a paid internship.
External Affairs (EA) team leads the organization’s efforts in two areas: 1) engaging and educating state and local elected officials and stakeholders on member company state policy priorities and 2) supporting our members’ advocacy objectives through EEI’s Public Affairs resources and campaign training. Additionally, the EA team is part of the larger EEI State Practice, a cross-functional effort with the State Regulatory Affairs team, in support of members’ state legislative and regulatory priorities.

This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area for the duration of the internship and come into the office a minimum of three days each week.
