Job Description:
We're seeking a Controls Engineering Manager for our growing Industrial Controls team. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your technical expertise while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and productive work environment.

Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of engineering for the Industrial Controls business group, including the design, installation, and maintenance of industrial control systems.
Manage, develop, and work closely with engineering supervisors to foster high individual and team performance.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with executive/senior level customers and project partners; regularly visit and check in (i.e. in person visit, lunch) with customers and project partners.
Guide and implement best practices for design, logic reuse, safety, testing, source control, support, and project planning.
Promote a positive safety culture and ensure accountability to safety expectations.
Assist in managing the budget and schedule for projects.
Develop and implement technical standards and procedures for control system integration.
Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in process control systems.
Provide technical support to other departments, such as production and maintenance.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Champion Egan's Mission, Vision, and Values and strategic direction; lead by example.
Drive a top-notch employee and customer experience.
Seek out and act on opportunities to continuously improve; instill an innovation mindset within the group, and effectively lead and manage change.
Provide opportunities to learn and grow within the group; actively mentor, coach, and develop direct reports.
Follow Egan's employee review process for goal setting, mid-year check ins, and annual employee reviews to provide direction, priorities, and actionable feedback.
Visit project sites and out-of-state markets (i.e. North Carolina) regularly.
Stay up to date with latest industry trends, trade updates, means and methods etc., and participate in industry/trade organizations and events.
Assist the Industrial Controls project management team with business development initiatives.



Position Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
7+ years of controls engineering, programming, and/or automation experience and experience designing, programming, building, deploying, and documenting industrial control systems.
5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Strong communication skills, ability to navigate and resolve conflict effectively; ability to grow long-term relationships.
Proven ability to develop and motivate a team; strong leadership skills; interpersonal skills; navigate and resolve conflict effectively and ability to motivate direct and indirect staff.
Proficient understanding of controls system integration and project and financial management.
Outstanding negotiation abilities and interpersonal skills with customers, suppliers and partners.
Willingness to occasionally travel overnight and out of state.
