We are now recruiting for a Deputy Safety Case Manager to join us on our major programme located near Aldermaston. Reporting to the Head of Safety Cases engineering.
Responsibilities:
Develop Programme nuclear safety case strategy.
Contribute to development and implementation of nuclear safety processes & standards.
Nuclear safety requirements development and management.
Support ONR and EA interface.
Work with other safety managers, Chief Engineer function and site safety technical authority.
Application of Nuclear Safety Principles and applicable policies and procedures.
Oversight of safety case preparation and production.
Safety case preparation and production of more complex cases.
Provision of mentoring and guidance for less experienced personnel.
Liaison with site safety committees and regulators as appropriate.
Engagement, deployment and management of a cadre of nuclear safety case related resources, including: safety case authors, human factors assessors, criticality assessors, nuclear fire safety assessors.
Key Requirements:
Technical or engineering background with a suitable degree or demonstrable industrial experience
Experience of working in a safety and safety case environment within the nuclear and defence industries
Knowledge and experience of the application of hazard identification; fault schedule development; safety functional requirements (SFR) derivation; and probabilistic safety analysis
Experience of nuclear safety analysis process management; and nuclear safety case leadership
Awareness of design process; and nuclear safety.
We need all candidates to ideally be Security Cleared (SC) or have no issue in obtaining SC.
